Altenew—Craft-A-Flower Sulfur Cosmos

Hello, friends! Happy almost Friday (or Friday if you’re on the East Coast)! Today I’m back with the second post in my collab with Altenew, this time featuring the Craft-A-Flower: Sulfur Cosmos layering die set. This is my first time playing with a Craft-A-Flower die set, and wow! I had a lot of fun and want to try out more! If you’re popping over here from Youtube and you want to see my supply list, everything will be linked at the bottom of the page!

This card went through a couple transformations while I was creating. I originally planned to use flowers that were cut out of Ballet Slipper and Carnation cardstocks, but after looking at things for a bit too long, I felt the flowers were a little too flat. They looked more like a ball of petals than like a flower with separate petals. So, I pivoted and die cut some new flowers and pulled out my inks. In my video, I walk you through what petals I decided to ink blend and how I did them, so take a peek at that for detailed instructions!

I built my floral arrangement on an arched panel that I die cut using arch dies from Ellen Hutson (they’re shutting down for Ellen’s retirement, and it looks like this set is sold out on their site and Amazon storefront, but any arch die set will do!). For a bit of detail in the background, I popped my arched panel up over a gold heat embossed panel that I used the Illusion Diamonds background stamp on.

For the sentiment, I pulled out the Versatile Greetings die set and the Sentiment Strips 2 stamp set, along with a coordinating die from the Featured Sentiments die set. To finish this card off, I added some dew drops for some extra shine!

I want to say thank you again to Altenew for sending me some fabulous products to play with (check out my last post to see more floral goodness!)! I love the cards I created with them and I can’t wait to make many more! Thanks for stopping by the blog today, I hope you enjoyed this card, and I hope to catch you next time! 😊
