CASE A Card With Me! A Masculine Birthday Card Inspired By Yana Smakula

Hi Crafters!

I’m back with my second YouTube video today, and this time I’m CASE-ing a card (well, cards) created by Yana Smakula (you can find them here). In case you aren’t familiar with Yana, she is an incredibly talented crafter that works with Spellbinders and Simon Says Stamp who also blogs and has a YouTube. So, you might be thinking, ‘what does CASE mean?’. CASE stands for Copying And Selectively Editing, which means that you take a card/idea someone has and you replicate it (please mention/tag who you replicate) and you selectively edit parts of it. Today I’ll be doing that by taking the general idea/layout of partial embossing and hot foiling from Yana and putting my spin, or ‘edits’, on it. Products used can be found at the end of this post!

I picked up this die set a couple months back when Spellbinders had it on sale because I knew it would be perfect for a birthday card for my uncle, who is very special to me. When I was visiting in college, he got me on his tractor and taught me to drive it around their property a la drivers ed haha! Needless to say, this card is packed full of love.

Keep in mind that if you don’t have a hot foil machine, you can still make this card! You can easily achieve a similar look by stamping or heat embossing.

I hope you enjoyed today's video! I had a lot of fun trying a technique I haven't used before and breaking out my Glimmer! Thanks for stopping by the blog today, I hope to catch you next time with more inspiration!😊
